“De Koppeling” is a new care programme for young people with severe behavioural problems. Many of these youngsters are currently still placed under supervision orders in juvenile detention centres.
“De Koppeling” offers treatment in secure units for boys and girls between 12 and 18 with severe behavioural problems in the Amsterdam region. “De Koppeling” is a cooperation of various institutions: Spirit (youth care), “De Bascule” (child and youth psychiatry), Altra (education) and the Amsterdam bureau of youth care (BJAA). “De Koppeling” links the various treatment modules of these institutions at one location. The institution was opened by Mr Rouvoet, Minister for Youth and Families.
