EU Tyre Test

EU tyre noise directive

Client: The Netherlands Society for Nature and Environment

A film about the noise tests conducted by the Netherlands Society for Nature and Environment with quieter car tyres. These tests are also carried out by tyre manufacturers but the results are never disclosed. This new generation of tyres is five dB quieter than standard tyres. Because sound increases or decreases logarithmically, a motorway can become as much as 70 percent quieter if all cars are fitted with these new tyres, a revolutionary improvement. The film also demonstrates that the braking performance of quiet tyres is equal to that of standard tyres.

This film is used to support the lobby in the European parliament.
